Empi Wheels

Empi 2-piece 5 spoke wheels: front part with center, rear rim half bolted to front with ears that fit on stud in the back side of spokes. Early style were counter sunk in the lug area and used the stock style vw ball lug bolt. Later style were not counter sunk, used a stepped stud, 12mm to fit the stock vw drum, with a 14mm shank and thread. A shouldered insert fit into the wheel that matched a lug nut with a 45 degree bevel. It looked similar to an alloy VW 205/5 bolt pattern, some wheels were made specifically for the 356A/B as the regular VW ones would not fit on the larger 356A/B drum, the stud and nut hit the drum, needed approx a 1/4" spacer to fit. Very rare sets were made for the 356C/911 130/5 bolt pattern, still the same casting with the ears for the larger pattern, but drilled in the smaller bolt pattern. –Matthew A. Joy
